What are pre procedure requirements?

Prior to a thoracoscopy, patients undergo a medical evaluation, give informed consent, and follow fasting instructions. Medications are reviewed, imaging studies and blood tests are conducted, and allergies are identified. Clear preoperative instructions are provided, and, if needed, an anesthesiologist assesses the patient’s suitability for the procedure.

What Happens during Procedure ?

During a thoracoscopy, the patient is administered anaesthesia, and small incisions are made on the chest wall. A thoracoscope is inserted to visualize the chest cavity, enabling the surgeon to conduct examinations, take biopsies, or perform necessary treatments. After the procedure, the incisions are closed, and the patient is moved to a recovery area.
